Welcome to
our website
celebrating the Capo San Vicente built in 1956 for Ybarra Line.
The
Capo San Vicente was a fine ship that served on their South American
service. She, with her sister ship Capo San Roque, also pioneered
cruises to Antarctica and the Falkland Islands and thus starting
Spain's involvement in Antarctica. During her career the Capo San
Vicente made three Antarctica cruises. In 1976 she was retired from
service and sold to the Shipping Corporation of India for service as
Noor Jehan on pilgrim services between Bombay and Karachi to the
Persian Gulf and Jeddah. In 1984 she was laid up and then sold for
scrapping in 1985.
