of scrapping commencing on the former Windsor Castle as the starboard
side of her once graceful bow is unceremoniously cut off for scrap.
Ironically scrapping commenced on the 18th August 2005 which is the
45th Anniversary of her maiden voyage from Southampton to South Africa
back in 1960. Soon this last survivor of Union-Castle Line sadly will
be no more. (c) Reuben Goossens Collection (SS Maritime website) Late August 2005 and scrapping is now well advanced with the former RMS Windsor Castle at Alang and now all her once graceful bow is gone. A truly sad sight of this once fine British ocean liner at her end. (c) L.
